The Aero Radio Club of Syracuse is an Academy of Model Aeronautics (#442) chartered flying club. In 1981 ARCS was awarded the AMA "Award of Excellence" award. The club has a rich history starting in 1951 as a controlled line flying club and evolving into a modern R/C flying club. ARCS members fly from a 400' x 125' grass flying field. Members fly a variety of RC aircraft including fixed wing gas and electric planes, gliders, helicopters and drones. Experienced as well as new pilots are welcome. Thursday evening flight schools are offered for new pilots and those wanting to improve their flight skills.
